Finally!

I am afraid this relatively simple sweater pattern has exceeded my limited attention span. It may not look too bad here, but up close, the imperfections are blatant. Let's call them design features, and let's call this one a learning experience. What I learned: stick to patterns that require needles larger than a US 3.

I haven't tried it on yet, but it looks a bit wide and a bit short. Let's call the shaping a design feature, too, then. It's supposed to look like a chopped off swing sweater. Really, I am probably being too critical here. What do you think?

Looks fine Robyn... I think we are all very critical of our own efforts.... and I will try and take a pic of one similar to this, where I think it is rather short and wide, but actually does not look too bad on....

I can't wait to see it. Just last night I picked up a skirt and remarked how wide it was--surely it wouldn't fit me. Yikes--it does fit. So maybe my new sweater will be just fine, and it's my point of reference that's off.

I think Alifan's absolutely right - you can't be objective about something you've been so close to. I used to find it with my glass work - I'd be very excited about a project, especially as it came close to being finished, but invariably had an anti-climax on standing back from the finished work. You are so familiar with all of the imperfections, which other people wouldn't notice.

What I have noticed is that when revisiting something with fresh eyes after a period of time, I feel much more satisfied.

And well done! This is quite a feat - such tiny needles. Please take a photo of yourself wearing it!
